Kasia Głowicka is a Polish/Dutch composer and researcher whose music spans film, opera, theatre, and multimedia. Growing up in post-communist Poland, she was influenced by the dramatic film scores of Krzysztof Kieślowski’s films and by the rhythmic pulse of Berlin’s techno scene.

Her work blends classical, ambient, pop-synth and minimalist techniques to serve powerful narratives. She composes music that is both structurally refined and emotionally resonant—praised by critics for its “haunting melodies,” “spatial awareness,” and “mind-captivating” strength.

Her operas and theater works have been performed by the Polish National Opera, De Munt Theatre Brussels, and in festivals including the Venice Biennale, Warsaw Autumn, and tv programme Vrije Geluiden among others. Signature works include Unknown, I Live With You, based on testimonies from Afghan women under Taliban rule, and Lilian, a radio play rooted in real refugee stories. She also coposed singspiel Afterparty for Warsaw Teatr Studio for current season and opera Last Woman for Fuel Theatre London. Under moniker “Glou” she develops electronic music both solo and in collaborations with DJs, pop and jazz musicians including Polish rap artist ‘Fisz’.

Screen work includes music for documentary Searching for Tereska and the VR opera experience Saga of Sage—a pioneering metaverse-based project developed with WeMakeVR.

She is also a Senior Comenius Fellow and researcher at Inholland University, where she explores how AI, VR, and digital technologies can support creativity and social change. As co-founder of The Airport Society (with Krystian Lada, Antwerp) and ARTEK Foundation Den Haag with Henry Vega.
