Searching for Tereska (Polish title: Szukając Tereski, 2019) is a poignant documentary directed by Kama Veymont that unravels the mystery behind a 1948 photograph by the renowned David “Chim” Seymour, depicting a traumatized child named Tereska at a Warsaw post-war school. Following researchers Aneta and Patryk, the film pieces together Tereska’s fragmented history, revealing profound layers of post-war trauma and collective memory .

Raza, a Jewish girl and Holocaust survivor became an iconic figure when her photo was captured on camera. 60 years later, in the process of tracing her own past, our film protagonist also uncovers the deep wounds and scars of other fellow Holocaust survivors.
